i wrote this specifically for my 2019 summer video back in may, tailing the end of my high school career. i finally worked up the courage to record it in a single day, telling myself that whatever product came from it, i'd be happy with, and i'd leave alone. and i did. okay, MAYBE i tweaked the sound balance of the harmonies in the buildup at the end of the song, but besides that, what you hear was all done in a span of 15 hours, with my rinky dink iphone voice memos app and garage band, on a high of melancholic emotion and an abundance of rare creative fluidity. it may not be the best quality, and i may not have performed or played to present my potential, but it's full of my heart and soul, and that's all i could really ask for. after all, it is my ~musical~ farewell to my home here in Pasadena. i hope you enjoy Home Is You. you'll be able to find the actual summer video to accompany the tune Monday, August 26th, 2019, at around *hopefully* 9PM EST. more details to come soon!

lyrics:
Scents of vanilla cloud my brain
Right here is where I've wept and shed all my pain
It seems it's time for me to go
But while I'm here, I'll be sure to let you know
My heart's placed here
No matter how close or far
I am, I'll reach on out and give
All my love though we're apart
My home is you
It's all I know to be true
Right now, promise you won't forget
The role I played here, too
Up the hill I stroll
One stride after another, each breath takes its toll
Unknowingly I hide and plead my
Misery will not be seen by
You
California Sunshine brings warmth and light to me
so be sure to blow a kiss for me to pocket back east (repeat twice)
My heart's placed here
No matter how close or far
I am, I'll reach on out and give
All my love though we're apart
My home is you It's all I know to be true Right now, promise you won't forget The role I played here, too
All my best, Faith
